    General Ordering Information
    • Placing Orders: Direct orders are not accepted. All orders should be placed through a local showroom or representative.

    • End Use: Please specify end use and cuts lengths, especially for orders over 20 yards when ordering, and please advise if the fabric is to be processed in any way, as special handling may be required.

    • Fabric Content: The fabric content for the patterns is listed under Collections, and is 100% unless otherwise noted.

    • Backing: Backing is not included with Barbara Beckmann Designs, Inc. patterns. It is recommended that silk fabrics be backed if they are to be used for upholstery. Cotton knit backing can be provided for an additional fee. There is a 5-yard minimum for this service, and it requires an additional two weeks per order.

    • Changes: Changes in order specifications such as finish, fabric, or quantity may result in price changes, and if production has already begun, change fees may also apply.

    • Rush Orders: Hand-painted orders can be processed within 4 weeks for a 20% upcharge if production allows. Terms are payment in full.

    Standard Orders
    Standard orders are for patterns and colorways that are included on our pricelist. (Pricelists available to trade professionals only through our showrooms or sales representatives.) Items include hand-painted and printed designs, batiks, woven designs, and grounds. All of these items are available on a produced-to-order basis, although woven designs are usually in stock and available for immediate delivery.

    Yardage Orders

    • Price: The price per yard for each pattern is listed on our pricelist. (Pricelists available to trade professionals only through our showrooms or sales representatives.)

    • Minimum Order (standard colorways):
      • hand-painted designs: 10 yards
      • printed designs: 10 yards
      • batiks and multi-screen prints: 10 yards
      • wovens: 5 yards
      • grounds: 10 yards

    • Due to the scale of repeats, hand-painted, printed, and batik designs are sold in full yard increments only. Woven designs and grounds can be sold in 1/2 yard increments.

    • Terms: Production is initiated upon receipt of a purchase order and a 50% deposit to Barbara Beckmann Designs, Inc. in Napa, CA. Full payment of the balance due- including shipping and handling- is required to release the completed order.

    • For hand-painted, printed, and batik designs, please submit a cutting of your sample showing all colors with the order so that we can match it as closely as possible.

    • Delivery:
      • hand-painted and printed designs: 6-8 weeks.
      • batiks and multi-screen prints: 8 weeks.
      • wovens: 8-10 weeks (if stock is unavailable)
      • grounds: 2-10 weeks.

    Cancellations and Returns for Standard Orders

    • Cancellation of a standard order will result in a 25% restocking fee with any remaining balance credited toward future orders.

    • All returns must first be authorized. Orders may not be returned if the fabric has been cut, processed, or damaged in any way.

    • No cash refunds.

    • No refunds on shipping.

    To maintain the integrity of Barbara Beckmann Designs, Inc. and to ensure the consistent quality of our fabrics, it is absolutely forbidden to take our design (or a variation "inspired" by our design) to other manufacturers for bids. Barbara Beckmann Designs, Inc. is the only authorized manufacturer, and no reproduction may be made of all or part of a design without our written permission. All persons responsible for unauthorized reproductions will be subject to prosecution for infringement.

    Disclaimers
    • Characteristic irregularities within the hand-woven silk grounds add individuality to each yard of fabric; variations in the pattern designs are characteristic of the hand-painting process. These variations are in no way considered to be defects, but we will try to match orders to original samples as closely as possible.

    • Silks are hand-woven in approximately 25-30 yard bolts, and each bolt may differ slightly from one to the next. Some variations in color and ground cannot be avoided, but the closest matching bolts will be used on orders requiring multiple bolts.

    • Fabrics are not guaranteed against fading, wear, or crocking.

    • Barbara Beckmann Designs, Inc. does not accept responsibility for fabric that has been cut or processed in any way, nor expenses incurred due to labor changes.

    • Prices are subject to change without notice.

    Colors represented on this website are affected by monitor and browser settings and differ from the actual color of our fabrics. Viewing samples online has inherent limitations, yet we strive to display the closest representation possible.
